Windows RT 8.1 was released on October 17 2013, it was the default operating system for both second generation Windows RT devices and was released as an upgrade for all first generation devices.
Mainstream support for Windows RT 8.1 ended on January 9th 2018, and extended support for Windows RT 8.1 ended on January 10th 2023.
Windows RT 8 was released on October 26 2012.
Windows RT 8 support ended on January 12th 2016, customers were required to update to Windows RT 8.1 to continue receiving support.
